The objectives of this research were to describe what the types of errors found in students narrative writing in using coordinate conjunction and to describe the caused of the students error. This study focused on the students’ error in using coordinate connector and, but, or, and so. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative analysis. The data of this study was the result of the students narrative writing with the topic 1) Slice of life, and 2) Personal experience of the eleventh grade students of SMA NU Palembang. The population was 134 students with 11 IPA 1, 11 IPA 2, 11 IPS 1, and 11 IPS 2. The sample students were 11 IPA 1 and 11 IPA 2 taken by cluster random sampling. The steps of error analysis were based on collection of samples of learner language, identification of error, identified the error, explanation of error, classification of error, and evaluation of error. From the result, it could be seen that errors which was made by the 11 IPA 1 and 11 IPA 2 grade students were misformation with 260 (53.81%), the second error was misordering with 93 (20.85%), the third error was addition with 70 (15.69%), and the last error was omission with 43 (9.22%) of errors. The caused of the students’ errors were the ignorance of restricted rules that the students do not apply the correct usage of coordinate connector, and the minor error was overgeneralization.
